1. The deal

You keep source material and context in Arthat Vault. We preserve it, make it retrievable, and apply the privacy and connection choices you make. When cognitive processing is requested, an AI connection you choose may do that work under a limited, versioned contract. Arthat Vault stores the result and its link back to the original.

Using Arthat Vault means you accept these terms, the Privacy page, and what is described on AI and your data. Those pages are part of this agreement, not marketing beside it.

2. Your account

• An account belongs to one person. You are responsible for what happens under it.
• Sign-in is by emailed link, so your email account is the key to your vault. Keep it secure and protected with its own two-factor authentication — if someone can read your email, they can open your vault.
• You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. Arthat Vault is not built for children.
• Give us an email address you actually use. It is how we reach you about security, service problems, and changes to these terms.

3. Your things stay yours

You own everything you put in Arthat Vault. Nothing here transfers ownership of anything to us.

To run the service, you give us the narrow permission we need to do the job you asked for: to store and retrieve your content, create the local records needed to find it, and—only where your settings and grants allow—send a bounded source and processing request to an AI connection or optional provider described on AI and your data. We may then validate and store the returned context with its provenance.

That permission does not give Arthat Vault the right to publish or sell your content, use it for advertising, or train an Arthat Vault model on it. A connected provider’s own terms also apply to data it receives. Deletion ends Arthat Vault’s active use, subject to the deletion and backup limits explained on Privacy.

4. What you can and cannot keep here

Arthat Vault is a storage and context service, so the rules are short. Keep material you are entitled to keep, and use the service lawfully.

Do not use Arthat Vault to:

• store or distribute anything illegal where you are, or where we operate;
• store content you have no right to hold, or use Arthat Vault to infringe someone else’s copyright or privacy;
• store or spread malware, or use Arthat Vault as infrastructure for an attack;
• attack the service itself — breaking in, overloading it, or circumventing limits (honest security research is welcome and covered on Security);
• resell access to your account, or share it with strangers.

5. Money — and never holding your data hostage

If Arthat Vault offers a paid plan, the price, billing period, limits and cancellation terms shown when you subscribe will apply. A price change will not rewrite a period already paid for.

The intended treatment of a lapsed paid plan is:

• Your vault becomes read-only. You can still sign in, search, open and download items, use the export available at the time, and delete what you want to delete.
• New uploads pause until the account is back in good standing. That is the actual consequence of not paying.
• We do not delete your data for non-payment. Not after 30 days, not after 90, not as a nudge to get you to pay. Your things are not leverage.

If we ever have to change that — for example if a dormant unpaid vault becomes genuinely impossible to keep storing — we will give you long, specific, repeated warning and an easy export first. Deleting your content to collect a debt is not something we are willing to do.

6. What we promise, and what we do not

We will use reasonable care to run Arthat Vault and be straight with you when something goes wrong.

What we cannot promise is perfection. Arthat Vault is provided as it is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, that search will always find what you had in mind, or that AI-derived context is accurate. A connected model can be wrong or incomplete. Do not rely on a derived result for anything consequential without checking the original.

Please keep another copy of anything irreplaceable. Arthat Vault is designed to preserve originals, but its own end-to-end backup and recovery process has not yet been independently proven. No single service should be the only place an irreplaceable original exists.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and nothing here takes away consumer rights you have under your local law.

7. Ending it

You can stop whenever you like. Delete your account and your vault enters the deletion process described under Privacy. Export first — we will help if you need it. The basic export and self-serve deletion controls are live; complete export coverage and automatic follow-up cleanup after a failed file deletion are still being hardened.

We may suspend or close an account for the illegal-use reasons in section 4, or if an account is damaging the service for other people. Except where the law requires immediate action — the child safety case above being the clearest — we will tell you what the problem is, give you a chance to respond, and give you a chance to get your data out.

8. Changes to these terms

We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app before a material change takes effect — a new restriction, a change to what we do with your content, a change to how billing works. If you do not accept it, close your account before it starts and take your data with you.

Two exceptions, and we will say which one applies: a change forced on us by law, and an urgent change needed to protect people’s security. Those can take effect immediately, and we will explain why.

Typo fixes and clearer wording we will just make, and the date at the top will move.

9. The legal small print

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up for good. These terms, plus the pages they point at, are the whole agreement between us.
